During Royal Oak Restaurant Week my CFO (Chief Filming Officer aka my boyfriend) and I went to check out Le Crepe! Le Crepe is a quaint, intimate restaurant with quirky touches like mix matched plates.  I was super excited to check out this restaurant because creperies aren't that common in metro Detroit and the owner was gracious enough to sit with me and tell me more about the restaurant.  You can check out the video on my youtube channel and at the end of this post.  Make sure you subscribe to my youtube channel because there so much more coming and you don't want to miss out!

Restaurant week at Le Crepe included one appetizer, one entree and one dessert for $25! That's a great price for the amount of food you are going to receive.  Le Crepe's regular pricing is super reasonable though especially because the crepes are so large.  Also another perk of this venue is that it's BYOB so you can bring in your own bottle of wine with no corking charge.

We started our dinner with the house salad and the soup of the day. The soup was a vegetarian gumbo that wasn't lacking in flavor even without the meat.  The salad came with a green house vinaigrette that I personally wanted a bottle of and these candied pecans that added a sweet crunch to balance out the tanginess of the feta cheese.

After chatting with the chef and owner, Dennis Williams, I wanted to try the most popular dish on the menu, The Obvious.  Mr. Dennis Williams said they decided to call this entree the obvious because its the obvious choice. That's exactly what I went for! It was filled with huge chunks of seasoned chicken and slices of caramelized apples, spinach, feta, raw pecans.  These crepe had a similar feel of the house salad with the feta and pecans.  This was more hearty and felt like comfort food.

Aaron aka Mr. Etiquette chose the Chicken Truffle which was filled with house-marinated chicken, spinach, swiss,  and truffle zip sauce.  I was low-key happy he choose this because I had been eyeing this item on the menu.  I love truffle and sharing with your girlfriend is proper etiquette lol.

The flavor profile of the Chicken Truffle was totally different than the Obvious.  Although the two crepes look similar, Le Crepe managed to create two very distinct flavors in within the crepe.

Both of the crepes were so huge and almost bursting out the seams that we couldn't possibly finish both halves and a have a dessert crepe afterwards. The desert I chose was the Patriot.  I was looking forward to the dessert because I mean, ice cream!  This is what I think of when I think of a traditional crepe, sweet, fruity and chocolatey.   As an educated guess Ill say the name stemmed from the colors of the red and blue berries and the vanilla ice cream.  Nutella was drizzled across the top and smeared in the inside of the crepe!   Nutella and fresh fruit is one of my favorite things and adding the crepe with ice cream just set this dessert off!  On a warm summer night in Royal Oak, sharing this dessert crepes is a perfect ending to a date night.

I'll definitely return to Le Crepe to grab some lunch or dinner while I'm out in Royal Oak.  Ill make sure I grab a bottle of Malbec and stop in to try the pizza crepes that will be on the menu for a limited time!
