Bougie with Balance
I grew up on the east side of Detroit with very little exposure to food outside of Detroit's 3 basic food groups and of course, soul food.
Chinese Food & Mexican Food & Coney Island
Although I no longer eat bacon and mayonnaise sandwiches, I definitely know my roots. I still enjoy grits with sandwich cheese, grilled chicken pitas from Coney Island, and lemon pepper wings.
Beyond being Bougie
I love all things food and all things hair. You'll always see me with a new hairstyle and trying new foods at groceries stores and restaurants. I especially love to try out new foods when traveling domestically and internationally. I've tried some wild things including whale, camel, and puffin!
I love the Midnight Golf Program (MGP). This program has really helped mold me into the woman I am today. MGP is out here changing lives. Donate here to make a difference in the lives of Detroit youth.
I love my boyfriend, A-A-Ron, who doubles as my camera man, my main supporter, my breakfast/brunch/lunch/dinner date and my fearless taste tester.
I love my puppy, Knight, who wishes he was my taste tester but for now holds the title of cuddle king.

I’m the girlfriend who always knows what she wants to eat for dinner. I love trying new restaurants and I’m all things Detroit. I'm a software Engineer by day and a blogger by night.
